Pull the pin on the under floor linkage...not all the way just to free it from the rest. loosen lock nut and turn in or out 'til you have the 1 1/2 inch or so of pedal travel before contacting the t/o bearing. The pin to pull on the linkage has a round head and is detented. Usually just have to put a vise grip on the head and tap to the side slightly with a ball peen or a local rock. Spray plenty of rust buster on the pin.. See TM 9-819 section VIII para 103 and fig. 53 Don't forget to tighten the lock nut...

Thanks, Tom. I have been berated for my good advice along those lines, so I gingerly kept my cake hole shut....so be it...gotta go enter my Social Security $ into my checkbook... ta ta.
