Compressor oil leak

My M35 compressor is leaking oil. I am trying to change the gasket, I've got the 4 bolts out but it looks like the belt is preventing it from becoming free. Looking for a way to loosen the belt to change the gasket or other ideas. Thanks

Well yes you have to REMOVE the belt to take off the compressor. The pully spins apart. you can use a couple big channel locks or for cheap you can get the correct wrench.. there is a member who is selling them. look in the classifieds.

Here is where reading the manuals comes into play. It would suck if the procedure you were doing got botched because you didn't read the book, left out a step and ruined the compressor. They are here in the TM section for free. When you put together, be mindful of the oil supply passage and don't block it with the gasket and DON'T use silicone as it will cover the hole , the compressor won't last long without oil!
