Coolant Filters

I got the odiron coolant filter kit for the M35.

I noticed the filter was a wix 24070. While cruising about I came up with anther variant on another website as a wix 24074. My local O'Reilly did not carry that number.

On another unrelated web search I came across NAPA #'s 4070, 4071,4072, 4073 and 4074, all made by wix. The difference is the supplemental cooling additives (SCA) in the higher numbered filters and none in the (2)4070

I will use the 24070 wix provided in the kit, but install the filter kit where I can accommodate a two quart filter (4074) with a twelve charge of the SCA. These have a kind of time release to allow the SCA to be inserted over a period of time.

It appears a really good idea for someone whose periodic servicing is not too regular.
