Coolant System Component Testing

I have replaced the thermostatic switch and temperature sensor. If the thermostatic switch is plugged in the truck runs hot and the fan does not engage. If I unplug the thermostatic switch the fan engages.

I have the Testing Manual and I’m too dumb to know what to try next.
