CTIS. Trouble

I suspect this has been discussed but I'm new so bear with me. I'm also new to the LMTV also. I spun a wheel in rocks and damaged two parts to the wheel assembly of the CTIS. So the question for FMTV owners. Is the CTIS system more trouble than it's worth? How many of you have simply disabled the system?
