CUCV gas gauge goes West

Hey guys,
I need help. My gas gauge has been swinging all the way over to the
right, and although I get a thrill out of the thought that it might
actually be overflowing with fuel, I'm afraid I know better.

What is the most probable cause of this?

check the ground on the inside of the drivers frame rail, might need to be cleaned off.

mine does go a bit past full when i fill the truck all the way up, its ok

Thanks, I 'm used to it going way over when I fill it all the way up. Now it goes
way, way over and stays there.
