Hello SS,
Pulled the heads off the NHC250 this weekend, everything on this engine is BIG!

The motor was starting to consume water and noticed / smelled antifreeze out of the exhaust. Hoping it was just a cylinder head gasket or a cracked head. I really did not want to pull a cylinder liner, looks like I may have no chose.

Picture shows leak / stain below #4 cylinder exhaust port. Head gasket between #3 & #4 was rusted, maybe that was the problem. Cylinder of #4 is pitted with lots of lines and sratches.

As always, time and money.

I would defiantly have all the heads surfaced and pressure tested before I reinstalled them. might also be a good time to have the injectors cleaned and tested.

also be a good time to install a block heater and coolant filter.
