Custom Doghouse Cover

Hey all! Question.. I see quite a few custom doghouse covers (even some aftermarket units) that carry a head unit and switch panels, etc. I'm interested in building my own, but I'm curious, if anyone here has built one, how to include the electronics and all that, but still be able to access the doghouse for mechanical work? Longer wire harnesses for removal without disconnecting fuse boxes and stereos and AC units??? Random question and might be kind of dumb, but haven't seen much on installs or additions of these covers with an explanation as to how you'd work on the rear of the motor? Appreciate any insight if anyone has been down that road. Couple pics attached for reference.
