Demil code B ?

Does the demil code B really mean "no demil" ? or am I missing something?

If you are buying from GL usually as in most of the time it has to be a witnessed demil, but sometimes it will come pre-demilled by the Gov and all you have to do is haul it away. It should state it in the lot details.


Condition code B - Serviceable - Issuable with Qualification

New, used, repaired, or reconditioned material which is
serviceable and issuable for its intended purpose but which
is restricted from issue to specific units, activities, or
geographical areas by reason of its limited usefulness or short
service life expectancy. Includes material with 3 through 6
months shelf life.

usually mens a decent servicable item that close to being obsolete in todays military.its not a bad thing if you need it.i have bought several items in this class with no issues

Demil codes and conditions codes are two entirely different things.


While I know what the below link says is CC B, in the Army we in the supply field took it to mean "Not new, but usable" The restriction listed didn't really apply.

In other words, you can buy something with a condition code "B" and demil code "B". It may have a completely usable condition code but by the time you take possession of it, it will be nothing more than a pile of scrap.

It doesn't matter what condition code it is if the demil code is "B". It's still scrap to us lowly civilians.
