Deuce fan belt life

Swapped the alternator this weekend and gave a 'look see' to the alt fan belts while I was in the area. They looked good, soft, no cracks, not glazed. But this year they'll be going on 20 years old. Do I go by the age of the belts or the hours on the engine, I sure wouldn't replace them by the looks of em.

I've switched to Car Quest's "Green" belts.

I don't have the numbers on hand but CQ can cross reference from the original numbes.

I switched on the advise of a friend that owns a logging company. They hold up a lot longer, especially in cold weather.

IMHO buying cheap belts is like buying cheap oil filters.
