Deuce Transfer Case vs M809

Sorry, but this will likely be a short discussion. "Is the M35A2 transfer case (TC) interchangeable with the M809 TC?" (M809 5 TON TRANSFER CLUTCH GEAR CLUSTER 7346755 NOS) My Deuce TC began to slip into neutral, and when it was repaired in Ogden, UT the mechanic showed me the above (in parenthesis) syncro, The gear engagement was much thicker (more engagement), When installed I have a notably stronger, better TC. But I wondered how it would work because the width of the new syncro was notably greater than what came out of my Deuce TC. I'm wondering if, while I wasn't present, he simply put this syncro and everything in a new case. He can't remember. I'm want to build a backup TC and was lucky enough to find the above 5 ton gear, So, are they interchangeable (Deuce and M809 TC's), by putting all the stuff from your Deuce TC into the M809 case, or is the M809 case larger but still interchangeable?

Best Regards,

Gary

Only the oil is interchangable.

Well, the drainplug, vent and a few of the bolts too.
