Deuce WMO setup in pickup bed?

Hey guys,

I haven't even received my new m35a2 BUT I'm excited to burn up a whole crapload of WMO sitting in my garage. I also have a good source and an ehhh- sorta okay source for oil once in a while. I need a lot of input here. Please dont respond 'look it up'... I've tried for the past few days and everyone's ideas are just sooooooo vastly different from one another that reaching a consensus agreement seems tough. My budget is maxed out at 300 for a unit. My goal is to be able to have the setup in a relatively compact manner. I would actually like it to fit nicely in the bed.. I want to be able to drive up to a place that will supply the oil and literally pump it from their barrels into my container instead of taking the entire container and leaving it in my house for a few weeks, etc. I want it completely in the pickup bed, so that means no AC motors..no 3 prong outlets, etc. I AM okay with purchasing a motor that can run off a 24V battery system though if need be. I then want to be able to take the relatively 'cleaned' oil (that has HOPEFULLY been separated from water) and use yet another on board hose to pump it into the onboard fuel tank.. will likely require a typical pump nozzle, right? If you cna direct me to a thread in which a similar set up is explained or if you personally want to assist me, I'd be crazy grateful!

Thanks!

I know your situation. I did the same thing. I wasnt always able to run on just wmo but it did cut down my fuel cost. I called all the local garages, repair facilities, and told everyone I knew and those I worked with, I will pay a dollar a gallon. Most garages seem to use the liability factor but there was a couple that realized they would make more money from me than crystal flash who only paid fifty cents a gallon. I keep a fifty five gallon drum in the back of my duece with a hand pump and a hose. I dont worry about a nozzle. I use a bolt to plug my hose. I filter my oil using layers of aluminum screen and magnets. I have done that for over a year and had no issues. I still change my fuel filters once every five thousand miles or six months. Have you tried calling any oil collection centers to see if they would sell you wmo? I hope I made myself useful. Lol. Also as far as budget goes, twenty five for a new 55 gallon drum, 130 plus shipping on the hand pump with no gauge and about twenty for a 3/4 hose from menards or home depot/lowes. Also it depends on the place, but some will pump the oil for you, others will not. When you call ask them if they will pump it for you, this way you know whats going on.

I dont worry about seperating water unless the oil looks creamy, then I discard it, other wise just ad dry gas to remove water. My drum stands in back right above the fuel tank. Never had problems with authorities but I imagine there is a law as to how much you can transport. You can always use a tarp or build side racks to make your tank less noticeable, but you probably want to check your local codes to make sure.
