Diesel Additive

Hey guys, I tried searching on this topic but didn't find much info...my question is, what's the best additive I can add to the NH250 diesel? I've got three Fords which I add diesel kleen, and the Ford PM122A, etc...

I was told by a local dump truck mechanic that would add used motor oil to a tank of diesel for lubrication. I didn't ask how much, or new or used oil. But I could have sworn he said used motor oil.

Any thoughts on this or what you guys are adding if anything...??
