and we started to develop a reasonably priced replacement system, where we combine the TCM100 and CIM into one unit.
To keep cost down, the HMI will have several High Contrast 7 Segment LED Displays for all pertinent information.
The system will have a secondary Circuit board which will be installed in place of the current TCM and has connectivity J23, J8, J17 and J25 to maintain current connections. Everything else stays the same.
J20 and J21 will be absolute.
There will be multi pin connectors between this board and the new CIM.
The entire system conversion will take app. 30 minutes and the conversion cost will be around 899 dollars which will include 2 wire remote start.
A plug-and-play Ethernet expansion board, we are not WiFi fans for security reasons, will be available at a later point as this is the most software intense part to be developed. But this option will assure high reliability and security.
The Conversion system is planned to go on sale around Christmas this year (2022).
Better be nice so Santa will be kind….

The good news at the moment is, that there seems to be no problems with the AVR or the Governor Control Units

Where can I buy these parts?
The best place to find parts is the Parts Wanted Section in this forum

Parts Wanted

This goes for any part of any Generator. Many members have bought several Generators as parts supply.

The other source would be eBay or the Original Manufacturer

Some more info on the two Bravo Units here, the 805B and 806B:

Both, the Voltage Regulator and the Governor Controller were made by GAC, Governors America Corporation and are modified units of their standard units.

The entire speed / rpm control is controlled on those Gensets by the Governor Controller and the RPM Sensor on Bell Housing

A conversion to a MeBay Controller DC 70 DR MK II / MK III is possible, but will require the addition of a ECS ( CAN Bus Engine Control System ) and a suitable GAC Governor Controller with CAN Interface and Protocol match to ECS Controller.

MeBay as example lists several ECS Controllers which are supported in their Software

The GAC Voltage Regulator can be replaced with a suitable standalone AVR ( AVR has to match DC Resistance of Exciter Coil )

Looking ahead, at one point or another, it will be impossible to locate these parts for repairs. At this point the owner will have no other choice but to convert the Bravo Genset to a complete retrofit Control System based as example on a MeBay Controller

What a conversion like this looks like on a MEP 005A without the addition of a ECS based Governor Control System, can be found here in this thread:
