Door weatherseal question

For those who have replaced the weather seals on your deuce doors, did you install the seal on the passenger door area where the gun ring bracket is mounted? It does not seem to have enough surface area for it to stick.

I just put the seal that's on the door.

man i need 2 of those pieces that hold the doors from swinging all the way open...
