Drivers side defrost plenum

Hey guys, I am adding a restomod ac system to my m998. I am trying to replace the ducting to the drivers side defrost plenum. How in the heck do i remove that plenum or at a minimum get a hose over the end of it. it feels like the hose end is pressed up on the structure above. i can slide the plenum towards the center of the vehicle about 1/2" before it hits something solid. hands all scraped up this morning due to the struggle.
