Eating v belts

What do you think? Could it be the water pump? My m998a1 with a fresh 6.5 na engine and 3l80 transmission keeps eating v belts. I think it has the serpentine water pump in it. The vehicle runs at 205 degrees F. I'm running a 200 amp alternator. Without driving up a grade, I believe the engine should be closer to 190-200 degrees. I have a new water pump I'll be installing. We will see the difference in pumps when I get the old one pulled off.

The serp water pump is reverse rotation from the V belt water pump. V belt problems are usually from sheave misalignment or improper tightening.

6.2 and 6.5 detuned have the same w/p.
6.5NA and 6.5 Turbo have the same w/p.
They cannot be swapped unless you change the w/p backing plate also.

To clarify...the water pump for any Vbelt spins in the opposite direction of a serpintine truck.
you can serp a 6.2, 6.5 by installing the correct WP and backing plate.
the turbos were always serpintine.
your temps are fine based on your Post...so why change out the WP.
If your running a v-belt system, you have 4 belts...serp is 1. what do you have?
It's pretty hard to eat v-belts on these trucks....v-belts are very forgiving, they don't need the same sort of alignment the serp needs...serp alignment is critical or you get jump off and shredding.
Perhaps post pics of your belts and setup.
