Emergency. M1009 starter problem. Atlanta, Ga

Hi Guys,

Two questions.

My 1985 Chevy Blazer M1009 is still 24V.

The starter is completely dead, died this morning.

Can I go into any auto parts store, and buy any of the new or remanufactured
starters for that vehicle, and it work properly?

Or do I need to ask for, buy, or order a special starter just because it is 24V?

I need an answer asap so I can get this fixed to get to and from work.

I know napa sells a oem replacement, but a rebuilt oem are the best in my eyes.

Why not get it rebuilt, a good shop can do it, I had mine done about $100.00 including a new nose.

ditto to the post by ralbelt. your best long term bet is to go to competent starter/alt rebuild shop and for under 100 bucks you can get it better than new condtion.. only takes one or two days but worth the wait

Didn't you post up about this in the past? I had mentioned that my friend has one that I previously owned.
