on the MEP006A physically where is the F1and F2 location? On the schematic it appears it is part of the exciter circuit is this correct?

Correct. Open the left rear door. Look down. You will see a TB, Terminal board. There are 4 wires on it. Its TB16. F1 and F2 in, F1 and F2 out.
