Who are you using to book backhaul? What are you paying per mile (and how many miles)? Have nearly a full flatbed load to move 225mi for my FD.

I haul on my 40ft low pro and about to be using the M871 again for different things. My average rate is $1.75 a mile insured but depending on what it is and where it is can work around things. But thats SS rates, my outside the Green Teams go from $2.00 - 6.00 depending what it is, weight, if permits are required. My wrecker dont roll for under $3.00 a mile in town when she running good and if I have to come down in the boonies to get ya, be prepared to pay in cash and beer, may take women in partial trade with cash!

I charge $ 1.50 round trip or $3.50 one way for a standard flatbed load a step deck .25 cents more a mile. wide loads start at $4.00 plus permits. and can go as high as $10.00 plus escorts if needed and permits. Nine times outa 10 a backhaul is a waste of time as far as makin money and I think there is no such thing as a backhaul, only hauls. My 816 gets $50.00 a hour local with 2 hr min. I do not go much more than $50 miles or so with it. If I dont know you or don't like you lol I give you 2 hrs to load and 2 to unload or I charge $ 40 a hour to look at me. They may seem like high rates but with truck tags, cargo ins and commercial liability ins. I make about enough a day to afford a fast food cheeseburger.
