Why do I have a grease zerk (that is not connected to anything) and a bracket thing on the inner driver side door? It looks like something is supposed to go there. I looked through the -10 and couldn't find anything.

good question.... I got the same zerk on my door too. thought it was just the "nub for unknown reasons" didn't even know it was a zirk. I assumed it was male end of a snap of some sort.

Now that I thimk further..... seem to recall it is a snap. A sign or something snaps in place there. One end goes in bracket. You pull sign off and put it outside under certain conditions. For example a "slow moving" triangle sign

Yeah the Unimog people told me the same thing about the sign, except, I've never seen that.

A guy on here, on one of the HVAC threads (black dash if this is running bells, he added A/C successfully), he has something on his door. It's like a rectangular olive drab thing, I remember it from one of the photos. The way it looked the zerk held it on and the bracket thing kept it from rotating.

I keep my tm, insurance papers, and a photo copy of my title (in case a cop gets weird) in mine. Bought it off fleabay for 15 bucks. Tm in its own ziplock separate from paperwork to ensure its not damaged.

Ill look tomorrow and see about finding a nsn or something on it.
