I was chatting w/one of the local VFD Fire Chiefs about selling one of his M35A2s to me. He said none of the M35s were for sale but they had an older deuce for sale.
I took a look at it today and got some pics...turns it was an M215

Im debating on buying it, then selling it (on here if anyone is interested) so I can get some more money to buy me another M35A2.

How much is it worth? I have no idea where to start w/an offer.

I think its gas (I saw new plugs in it) also the odo says 30,XXX

Actually it is an M211, and I would not give more then 500 for it.

Edit after seeing the data plate it is an M215, which means it would have been a dump truck.

if its only worth $500 I may not even mess with it and keep saving for an a2

Actually,That was a M215 dump, notice the extra lever in the cab just below and to the left of the drivers seat?

Also notice how deep and short the fuel tank is as well as the behind the cab spare tire carrier and odd placment of the air tanks.

They are rare compared to a M211/M135,worth a lot more than $500!!

Notice your last pic, looks like part of the transfer case busted, not sure if it's from this truck though,2 shift rails vs just 1 for a 211/135.

I think it was actually an XM215 dump, if you read the really tiny writing on the top of the data plate. So, someone removed the dump bed. This is too bad, because if it were an M211, a standard M35 bed would fit. The M215 has the short wheelbase just like the tractor of the series. You could either make up a shorty bed for it or mount some sort of a 5th wheel.

Hello Chris,
If you end up buying and parting this out, I'll purchase the fuel tank and straps. The M215 / M221 used a shorter / taller tank. Could also use a few other unqiue parts for my M215 dumper and M221 tractor.

Good luck,
Karl

Save it.. It looks to have no major rust. Lots of good hard to find parts should be on it. Like mentioned above different fuel tank and straps.. Should have a duel PTO, valve body and dump box linkage. $500 would be fair if you ask me..

Some of those had winches. When they did, the PTO was very valuable. Have no illusions, it would take a good deal of determination and skill, not to mention money to get that running.

The spare tire carrier is specific to the dumper too.. If the motor is not locked up I would not take to much to get here to life.. Start with fuel and spark and let here rip! [thumbzup] That would make a nice little dumper.. Pick up a M35 bed, shorten it and have fun.. You would have not problem parting it out but you could save it too..

Here's one I ran across yesterday. It's not abandoned, don't know if it runs.
(Not my kids either)

Im still waiting to see what the city wants for it.
I am going to be calling Boyce tomorrow (if all goes as planned) and have them start me a deuce. Once I get it, I might spring for this truck as a project/fun truck (assuming the price isnt high)...or part it out depending on price....I just dont really know yet.

if I decide to part out, ill let you know.
