Friday Night Classic Car Show

During the summer each weekend Downers Grove, IL features a different type of classic car. Well it was our turn Friday night, NICMVPA guys were there.

We shared the fareway with other Trucks, Military, Fire Vehicles, Farm Tractors, and of course the famous(?) Roy and The Orbitz live band.

Had a great time, the rain held off, kids loved the trucks. Hard to believe the HMMWV is old enough to that antique/classic status.

Any calls from the Army for attending this event? I see firetrucks, farm tractors, classic cars and MV's. Give me a lawnchair and a milkshake and I could do that all day long. Looks like fun!

Great looking event, I love small town car shows, they get everyone together for a good time and there are some great cars that come out to them that you never see at the big events like Carlisle, PA...

I was gonna go there, but you beat me to it!
Nice turn out. There are some shows here, but they are 20 plus miles way on a weekday. I hate traffic, but, I guess I should do some of them. It would be fun.

I wore my handy-dandy MVPA hat with insignia to ward off any military problems.
Funny tho, everyone thought it was a new HMMWV(?). Had to explain it was first year's production from nearly 25 years ago!
The HMMWV has one of those timeless 'looks'.

But I'm only half way done restoring 'BabyRuthie'...
