Front amber (turn-running lights) ?

So should the amber (Turn/running lights ) be on when the headlights are on ?

Was changing out the head lights for the 4H and their not on ?

Markers yes. Front blinkers not usually unless you are using blinker or hazard.

Correct, front will only illuminate when activated.

Very easy fix to make them come on with headlights on like a civy vehicle. You can use a military Y or splice off any side marker light power to your turn signal. I don't recall the tag number for the wire but easy to figure out. Abandon the original feed and just power from side marker light.

You can put the headlight switch in park to light them up but headlights won't be on.

For me it was a safety and visibility issue on my 5ton so I did the mod. Yours would work the same.
