Front axle caster - change it with shims?

Hey guys,

I can only guess that these axles are at about 0º of castor, which isn't working well with radial tires and high speeds.

I was looking at getting some shims made, and they're not terribly expensive:

Has anyone ever shimmed their front axle for better castor? If so, I'd love to hear about it.

Bob, have a looksee at the spring perches. They have a taper built into them. I forget which way the taper goes but you might be able to reverse the perches to obtain some positive caster.

The caster for the deuce should be about 4° positive.
