US6x4, thanks - I think that and the location requirement for holding the clutch lever in it's detent position (when I get a new ball bearing - no comment!) will be all I need. Thanks.

So I got out the cardboard n tape... Appears that only one side of the hinge was used, not the full width.20241206_101709.jpg

Underside showing how small connection will be. (Didn't want to make full piece for male side of hinge, requiring new, riveted pin). Also detent holes.

Used gas to weld it - thought I'd go for a 'period' repair. It's what the wrecker carries, after all!

Installed, clutch lever in detent position "disengaged".

Lock flipped over to allow clutch lever to move to other detent position.

.... now to wait 'till spring to paint!
