FSN to NSN ?

way to get the size of windshield glass from
NSN's

I have a FSN 9340-240-62
How do I get a NSN?
This is for a M54A2 TM 9-2320-211-34P

I started digging into your question last night and got sidetracked. Best I can tell from what I did find is that FSNs predate NSNs and there doesn't appear to be a way to make one into the other. This is purely speculation but it looks to me that FSNs became obselete because they were running out of numbers. I'm sure someone more knowledgeable on FSNs will come along because honestly, I'd never heard of FSNs until you mentioned it. Goes to show my lack of knowledge of the older generations of our trucks.

FSNs are 11 digits. Most of the time, you can make an FSN into an NSN by adding zeros into the 5th and 6th digit slot.

Also, a M54A2 windshield glass is the same as the M35A2 and M809 truck glass as well, isn't it?

FSN is pre-1973 or 74 or something like that.

The country designator code was added to make it an NSN

2320-00-077-1616 is a deuce
2320-077-1616 is, you guessed it, a deuce.

in 1974/75ish, they changed 00 to 01. Any NEW part put in the supply system after then had a 01. Any part in the system being "used" before that was a 00.
