Anyone recovered an item at Ft. Hood recently?

How many CUCV's are left there? Mainly M1009's

I was last there on 9/11 (Phantom LZ) and I counted about 20. About a 50/50 mix of trucks and blazers.

I don't know if they have them shipped in or have them stored elsewhere.

I saw three on Google Earth at North Ft. Hood all by themselves, but that's not reliable.

Thanks!!

I bought a M1008 earlier this year. Only one on the auction and 400+ bids. Needless to say I paid too much! It was in good shape. Get ready to spend some bucks since they are much fewer. You might get a better buy from a private seller. The GP planet guy at Ft. Hood was very helpful and a nice guy.

Look at state forestry equipment auctions, they are trading in M1008s all the time, most go for well under $2000 some for half that, buy two and come out with a complete truck with plenty of spares!

Already have a M1008
In market for solid M1009
Ft Hood is easiest for recovery.

Looked at the forestry and other sites and all their
stuff is really rough
I don't mind a challenge but those are too far gone for me
unless I missed the good one (s).

The one I picked up from ft hood was rust free and tons
of new parts installed.
Bent DS and other small issues but solid

Will keep watching

They are rough, but Goldsby has some decent one show up every once in a while. I have picked up a couple of M715 WW for a grand or so, but they did require some De-brush trucking!
Good luck
