FWIW.
My fuel burning heater is the Benmar and was installed 2009-2010 in the xm757 8x8 truck. Its the proper heater for this vehicle and pretty much installed as shown in the TM's.
It has started reliably every time since installed as follows:
2011 Jan 02; "Smoked a lot at first. Defrost temp about 220°F"
2011 Nov 07; "Took about 5 minutes to start"
2012 Mar 22; "Ran on its own after about 4 minutes"
2013 Jun 26; "Ran on its own after 4 minutes. Defrost air temp about 170°F"
2013 Dec 10; "Runs on its own after 3 minutes and 50 seconds. Purge time 1 minute and 20 seconds"
2014 Nov 25; "Runs on its own after 3 minutes and 15 seconds. Defrost air temp about 180°F. Purge time about 90 seconds"
As you can see, I don't run it often, but it has been very reliable.

The last image shows the defroster nozzle and a deflector (by yours truly) to help protect the windshield from excessive temperatures.

Glad to see you posting again Bjorn. Does that take the edge off the chill with the bikini top?

Well, Kenny, you know I drove the deuce to your place in the Winter of '06 and the bikini top is not that bad, once the engine is warmed up.
