Fuel Filer Purge Question

Its been a loonng time since I have done a 6.2 fuel filter purge. Isnt there a electrical connnection I am supposed to disconnect so I can crank over the motor but not start, allowing the mechanical fuel pump to work but the motor not to start?

Remove the pink wire on the top of the IP, it will keep the engine from starting>
