Fuel leak from injectors?

So I developed a fuel leak somewhere on the driver side. It is leaking down the engine onto the oil filter and exhaust pipe from what i think is the injector(s). A couple of the injector look damp around them but it’s tuff to tell due to the slow oil leak it has in the same area. This leak developed after sitting for 2 weeks and it’s been cold out.
I did a quick look and can’t see anything leaking from the fuel filter or hoses to it. The only area that I think it could be is the injectors. I don’t see any steady drips or leaks when I have it on either. Just a decent oil Stan on the drive way and fuel cover side of engine.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

Those return hose leaks are sneaky. Often I will get a smell of diesel when walking by the truck when it is not running. Then I can look and often do not see any liquid. Starting the engine sometimes will maybe or maybe not show the spot as you have found out. A good flashlight with the engine running has been my best way of finding the culprit.

Look into the valley of the engine, the leak may be the injection pump and the fuel is leaking out of the valley drain, it exits just above the oil filter.
you don’t have your vehicle model and year listed so it’s just a guess, it’s also possible the drain back lines are leaking on the injectors, injectors rarely leak, if they do? The motor would not run well.

I pulled the dog house off and looks like the leak is dripping onto the transmission. Ran out of time to pull the shield off the turbo and my heat insulation off. Is there a return hose back there?

I looked in the valley and nothing stands out. Just the normal looking oily sludge in the middle.

I did notice that my exhaust gasket is gone between the flex pipe thing and the pipe to the exhaust.

Bock to the gasket thing. I believe there is no gasket between the turbo and exhaust pipe? I just loosened it and moved it back to being aligned and tightened it down. It must have moved when I changed out my flex plate.

No it is just a "flair" fitting (I am sure the exhaust folks have a different name for it:eek:)

Look at the bottom of the front of the IP.
Does the bottom of it look like it may have sat in water . My IP leaked from the small mechanical pump under the front bottom of the IP. When the valley drain gets plugged the valley fills up with water if your truck sat out in the elements before you got it.
When I had my IP rebuilt they said that was a common problem because the piston in the pump was steel or the sleeve of the wall was aluminum or visa versa.
It was years ago. Might have to use a mirror to see up in there.
