fuel pump not working.

I just replaced the engine in my m35. It was the first one I had ever done. I went to fire it up , and decided to let the fuel pump run a little first and bleed the fuel at the filters. When I turn the ignition switch on the fuel pump didn't come on . I hit the starter button and it fired up right away , I shut it off just as it stareted to run ruff. I believe it was running off the fuel left in the injection pump. what should I look for to get the fuel pump back on line? I'l check for voltage at the pump first when I get back to the truck, but what usually goes wrong when th epump doesn't work. This is the first problem I've incountered with a m35 and could use some advice.

Check the fuse in the top of the fuel pump cover. Depending on which TM you choose to believe, it is either 2 or 4 amps rated. for more info check out http://www.steelsoldiers.com/index.php?name=PNphpBB2&file=viewtopic&t=7994

Hmm..4 amps, which TM would that be? I have always seen 2 amps, maybe someone got smart.

Aluminum foil from a cigarette pack wrapped around the blown fuse it about a 4 amp'er isnt it???

Don't recall which TMs I was in, most places said a 2 amp fuse but I did run across one manual that listed as 4 amp. Maybe a difference in the -209 and -361 manuals?

take a look at this. I just pulled my fuse and cover today and discovered that it had blown and looks like running it through some water may have lead to an early fuse death.

I just pulled my fuse and it says 250V 2AS. other end says BUSS FC2B
