Fuel tank sender

What can be used in these trucks for a fuel sender mine rotted off wire fell off. Any help thanks. will universal one work and i just change the gauge as well.

New sending units can be found for these trucks. I paid $111 off the internet for mine. It is a factory original. Not aftermarket.

http://www.factorymoparparts.com/4240277.html This is where I got mine. This is a newer part that superceded the old part. The nipples are in different dirrection but with longer hoses it works just fine.

I'll add that I made the mistake buying a complete parts truck just for the sending unit. Just to find out its bad too. They don't last long when the trucks sit for years with empty tanks.
