Hey all. While I was getting those exhaust pics done, I snapped some shots of the odd humvee commo shelter Ski stuck in the back of my deuce.
It is of a composite construction; not aluminum, more like a plywood shell sheathed in a plastic material - something like that. Anyway, I remember folks mentioning it before here, and it is in need of some help. All 3 hinges are shot and rusted/frozen/broken, the door handle and latch assemblies similarly snafued, about the best thing going on with it (besides the price - thanks, Ski!) is the kickass homeboy'ed american flag on the back door.
can anyone give some tech number type details on this thing? apparently, it was custom-built to fit a humvee body as it is not like an S-250 shelter in width from wheel well humps.
I'd like to clean it out and make it watertight, it's got missing windows and a/c, but I can deal with that - mainly wondering about hinges and door handle stuff. also, any pics of this thing in tactical use?
I wondered if there might be some good pics of it kitted out in commo mode, with whatever appropriate radios and antenna mounts might have been included or adapted to it.
