Also looking for info on "gas" guns/simfire/propane weapons dummy weapons.
I have been looking around for info on these too. I have a propane/oxygen cannon made by the army to simulate a 105mm tank gun. We had the manual back when we bought the gun and it talked about how it was bolted around the tanks barrel and the controls ran inside the tank so they could fire it insted of real rounds. It was able to use another gas cylinder to produce smoke after the blast.
The manual has been lost and I need to fix the unit because it doesn't always fire the spark plug so you get misfires. I don't know if it's the spark plug or the internals in the control box that are causing the problem. After I fix that I want to take the 10sec delay after firing (I belive was to produce the smoke) out of the circut so I wouldn't have to wait so long before firing it again.
The gun is about 6 feet long or so with a opening about the size of your fist before it enlarges halfway down. It weights about 100 pounds or so. The gun does have a build tag with it's number but I don't remember it off hand.
Has anybody heard of this gun or have one themself?
I think it was around 1996 when Sarco sold the units. They bought them from a guy in Rock Island , Ill. We got his phone number(which has been lost also) and he said he sold all his bad ones to Sarco and had 2,000 good ones in his warehouse. I don't know if he ever sold the lot like he wanted to or still has some left.
If anyone knows what I am talking about or has any info on these, PLEASE post them.
