OK I have been troubleshooting this all week. The information on this site and received from members is amazing. But one thing I had to figure out on my own. Maybe I missed it on here, so I’m sharing it now.
the GEN 2 exciter voltage was reading .2 and GEN 2 was not working. I traced all the circuits using the schematics and info on here. Now on my M1009 I found the Volt meter didn’t have the required resistor and replaced it with a known working voltmeter. I then found the 24v fuse was blown and had the wrong fuse. Replaced it with a good correct fuse. Next I checked the bulb by putting it in the 4WD socket and it worked. Still .2 colts on the exciter wire. Removed and tested the diode and tested the relay. Still .2 volts. Then I went back to the bulb and tested it had 24v. So where was the problem? The circuit film for the GEN 2 bulb socket was dirty! Scraped it good with a fingernail and everything came to life.
