Hello, I am new to this site but I have had this generator for 3 years. It has always been a great generator for my job sites but I now have a problem. I started it up one day last week, it worked fine for about 10 minutes and suddenly shut down with the over voltage light on. I started it up again and the low voltage light came on and the gauges went to zero. I later found that the Ktk-3 fuse next to the voltage regulator had blown. I figured it must be a bad vr so I replaced it. When I fired it up and again after I installed the vr and a new fuse the engine struggled to run and the over voltage light came back on and once again blew the fuse. I am now scratching my head knowing it’s probably not the voltage regulator. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Have you downloaded the TM and performed the VR tests? If so what were the results?
I downloaded this TM but I can’t find anywhere in there how to test the VR is there another manual I should look for? I kinda ruled out the VR as a problem because the same thing happened with two different ones now. But I guess anything is possible. Thanks for the input.

It's not in that manual.
You'll need to download TM 9-6115-643-24. It's available in the TM section of the forum.
In here Generator TM's
This manual looks like the one I need. I don’t have time to look into today but I will soon. I did notice that this is the manual for mep 804a and I have the mep 804b. Do you think that matters for the problem I’m having?
