Getting Ready to paint

im getting ready to paint my all tan m1009. Im going with the 4$ cans of krylon brown and od green. Any tips or advice i should heed before starting? I figure I will just outline my blobs in brown and fill in with green. Is there a specific technique to this or should i just give it ****? I have looked into the markngs and painting part of the TM for MVs and saw some of their basic techniques. Just looking for some advice before i set out and cant go back. Its supposed to be near 70 degrees this week in KY and want to get Clifford painted up!

Be sure the old paint is clean. I'd touch up any rust too. Usually the military would paint the whole truck green then apply the black/brown spots over it. Either way, it's up to you.

repair any rust, lightly scuff the paint, wash, rinse very thoroughly, then paint

info just in case it helps ya. I painted my first deuce with the krylon camoflague paint from walmart. It looked real good. I am painting my 2nd deuce with the 383 colors from Rapco. I have not sprayed yet but supposedly that paint looks much better and authentic. Best of luck to ya!

im sure everyone knows this but if you spraying a whole vehicle, those plastic trigger grip things that snap on any spray can are worth there weight in gold

Well my beast is all tan. Im not sure how or what Im going to do. I will for sure paint the wheels black for starters. Not sure what color scheme to go with. What do yall think? I know it's my choice but heck, i dont really know what will mesh well with tan...my first idea is green camo with brown or black outline.

Not sure if you've looked into it but a full body paint job can be alot simpler with a few bucks worth of useful tools. Harbor Freight is your friend!! For $160 you can make your life alot easier and who couldnt use a compressor and spray gun?
