glowplug indicator, old school?

Wondering if I can place a 9nth glowplug inside a steel pipe, with a glass window, facing out of the dash, to indicate how hot the other 8 are? This is similar to the resistor wire used on my tractor as an indication of it's readiness to start.

NO,

By adding another glow plug you are changing the resistance across them all (they are wired in parallel.)

This is going to cause them to not heat as much, since the current is now being split 9 ways instead of 8.

If you want a good way to see that they are on, just wire in a tiny light bulb, one side to ground and the other side to the bottom large lug on the glow plug relay. That will tell you the plugs are receiving voltage when the bulb lights up. Also it will tell you when you may need to check the system for burnt out plugs. When you have a plug burn out, then the voltage raises because the load is going through 7plugs now, so the light bulb you have hooked up will glow brighter.
