I had made the mistake of ASSUMING that if my deuce didn't have too much trouble running the G177s, that the much larger 5 ton M816 Wrecker would have more room. But tonight I was questioning that assumption as I took a closer look at the rear suspension and tire clearance.
The truck currently has Michelin XL 11.00R20's on them. They are pretty much junk all the way around. I just wanted to get your opinion if the Goodyear G177s 11.00R20 will have clearance issues on the rear duals. I realize the final verdict will be to actually mount one (I have a few remaining after upgrading my deuce), but I have more time/ability to discuss than energy/daylight to be mounting/dismounting tires on the truck.
Here's a few pictures of the clearances offered by the existing Michelin XL 11.00R20s:
And here's a few of my attempts at showing the width difference of the Goodyears as compared to the Michelins:
(note, the Michelin on the left below is on a deuce wheel, while the Goodyear is mounted on a proper 5-ton wheel)
Michelin <----------------> Goodyear
