Gutting a MEP-016D generator

Has anyone totally gutted the circuitry in a MEP-016D to make it a 240V single phase unit only ? After I finish converting my MEP-003A I will be going after my MEP-016D. It would be nice to have an initial direction to go with instead of starting from scratch. I know this unit has a different style of generator then the MEP-002A and 003A units. I believe it's a "WYE" pattern . One question for all the electronic engineers out there. Will I still need capacitors on the terminal ends like it has now ? I know my civilian generator had to have them.
Thanks for any help.

There is a schematic I posted @ http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?140003-MEP-016B-Generator-Startup post #5 of the windings if that would be of help. The capacitors have to do with radio interference and I read they were not necessary if you are referencing the ones I think you are. I had a photo of those somewhere and could not put my finger on it just now.

These instruction have been given in various threads on a 016b....If you take a jumper from T6 using a #10 stranded wire over to L0 and remove the re-connection knob after putting it on 240v setting and then you have a semi-permanent 240v setup no more required. But don't crank it until you review how it is currently grounded and make any needed changes that might be needed if you put it online. Yours may be jumped already.
