There are multiple threads on this very subject. Try doing a search

But to answer your question, yes there are many of us using a VIC system in our trucks. I personally have a VIC-3 system in mine with two work stations. One work station in the cab and the other in the cargo area.

VIC-1 in mine. Wear ear plugs inside the headsets to quiet the "white noise" and you can hear each other just fine.

Peltor Powercoms. As many sets as you can afford and wireless. Also excellent for inter-vehicle communications for convoys and ground guides.

I have a VIC 1 in mine as well. 2 stations in the cab, one in the bed.

Steve Hanley out of TX is a great guy to work with getting a VIC. He sends you all the parts to it from one end to the other and bench tests the whole thing before he ships it. I have had nothing but good luck with him.

How do you mount the VIC-1 equipment? Any photos?

The wireless Peltor Powercom can be used with other vehicles without a radio?
Yes they can. Basically they are FRS radios wrapped up in a noise cancelliing headset. Can also communicate with standard walkie talkie FRS radios too. I took 4 sets to the GA Rally and on our convoy up we had a pretty decent comm setup in the convoy. Those in civy rides used handhelds.

In the 5 ton I use the fight com DX head sets with noise canceling mics and the 400-st box.
Like has been said previously, it has an aux in for radio.mp3/cell phone. But new on the market that is pretty great is the blue link BLULINK

Right now I am trying to wire up my 400-st to go thru the CB.
Are the Vic-1s able to patch into a CB radio?

Also the noise canceling lets you hear all new low freq noises your MV makes.:driver:

I can get my CB to play through the VIC but I still need to use the CB MIC to transmit. Way nicer then the ghetto speaker I had zip tied to the soft top frame last year.

i mounted the 1780 amp behind the driver's seat and put the crew stations on the shoulders. Works really nice.

Anyone have pics of there cargo bed setups for the Vic-1? Was thinking about doing this with a 3 or 4 station.

I just went through my whole pic file and can't find a single pic of the VIC-1 installs I used to have in my trucks. Dang, I need to take more pics!
