So

ive got a bit of s mish-mash going on with my m1008:

it has a banks turbo, an np435, and an 89 burb grill w/quad lights.

amoung other issues, it has no real harness for the lights.

so, best I have is a hacked up stock harness. Long story less long- I only have 1 light to work with for either the side marker OR running light/blinker.

blah blah blah here's the question

can I scotch lock off the 1 light feed I have to supply both the lil lights? Or isn't there enough power to feed 2 and not blow anything??aua

Brand new NOS OEM headlight harness for sale on eBay for less than $100

Replace yours and be done with it. Sounds like a mess now.

I have the H4 conversion and its harness already so ALL I need is to add the side marker lights??

at this point it'd be more work to start over

DSCF7091.jpgDSCF7091.jpgIs this the grille and headlamp system you are referring too? If so only one light lights at a time and you can tap your side marker lights off of the park light wire(brown). I used the stock harness to do this conversion. It works well with the LED head lamps. Also do yourself a favor and scrap the Scotch-Lok connectors. They are temporary at best. Use a good heat shrink crimped connection.

They will blink just like the CUCV did when the headlamps/park lamps are on. I have never changed a stock headlamp harness on any CUCV. I did start using Truck Lite LED head lamps. Did you change your core/radiator support? I think it is a nice upgrade. gives it a different look and the old 2 headlamp radiator supports are getting hard to find. Yesterday while riding around in the mountains of north central Pennsylvania I came across an opening and it had a gold mine of CUCV usable parts.DSCF7112.jpgDSCF7113.jpgDSCF7114.jpgDSCF7115.jpgThere also appears to be some M880 parts there also amongst other things. I have inquired. I heard banjos playing. Yellow one in the back ground say Coker Canoe Rentals.

Afternoon Would this be an option??? By just adding extra reaays (See below)

Afternoon ALL

Had time to work on the truck last weekend (M1009)
Power washed all of the outside (sure was dirty)
Also installed head light relay package (easy to install)
Before that I notice that the fuse that control the headlight was getting hot and starting to melt. This should help resolve the problem.

My experience has been that the connections of the 30 amp fuse were a bit loose and making a bad connection. I just removed the fuse box and bulkhead connection and cut the wire and put a new inline fuse in place. A big maxi 30 amp fuse. It worked for 15 years so it must be fine. I am not an electrical specialist. But I can get by without any issues.

ok, so to be clear- I'll be FINE to daisy off the other grill light to the marker lights?

SPECIFICALLY: the lights won't be dimmer or anything? Just MAY need a bigger fuse?

Or or am I misreading things?

oh, and I just mentioned the scotch licks cause everybody knows what they are... I hate 'em so I'd solder it all.

They should not be dimmer and do NOT add a bigger amperage fuse. The 30 amp maxi fuse takes the same short to pop as the micro mini 30 amp fuse. Size does not matter amperage is the key in electrical circuits. I am NOT an electrician.
