heater help

hey guys,,
little late in the year for this but,,, my heater isnt working,,, everything under the hood is functioning,, fluid flow, blowers, working fine,, just i am getting no heat into the cab?
i feel the air coming thru the ducting,, and defroster slots,, just cold.
thanks for any help guys
p.s when i got the truck,, critters had made a food storage faculity,, in my heater and ducting.

Get one of those non contact infrared thermometers. They are great for checknig brakes, hubs, difference between cylinders, etc..., not just heaters. Measure the temp of the hoses going to the heater core. One should be real close to whatever engine temp you have at the time. The other should be in the 80-90 range with the heater blower fan on. No drop in temp means no heat is exchanged. You either aren't getting any air over the core or the core itself is really plugged up on the water side.

No hose near engine temp means you need to make sure you have them hooked up at the right spots, back check the hoses all the way to the engine to see if you have a blockage. the multifuels take a long time to warm up and even then, aren't all that hot.
