I have been lazy and have posted up for a while so I'm finally getting around to it.

I'm Joe from San Diego (specifically El Cajon, CA). I have a M1009 that has a few mods done to it and is waiting for my to get some more cash to finish her.

1986 CUCV M1009
6.2L TH400 NP208
10b (8 lug) front and 14b rear, soon to be a Dana 60 front
4" Flip shackle in the rear and zero rates and 2 1/2" lift springs in the front
Magnaflow muffler 3" with IP turned up a little (I've been told)

It had a 10b rear and 6 lug but i brunt up the rear end last Christmas and decided to put some 1 ton running gear underneath it so i stop breaking it for now. The truck is a Hoss! I've found water in the oil (about a quart of water after i drained it) after offroading one day, drained the oil and refilled and she ran just fine. I have so far had to just replace a rear main seal and some fuses, other than the axles she hasn't need a thing.
Here are some pictures:

Welcome aboard. i am just on the North side of L.A. and seem to find myself traveling to San Diego fairly regularly. Sound like you're on the right path for the CUCV.

Welcome! As BLK HMMWV mentioned, we are in the planning stages for our spring trip to the desert if your interested. We have one heck of a time, and to date we've not blown anyone up yet . Look for the So Cal Dirtbag thread for more info. Hope you can make it!!
