Hi Pete, welcome to the site. I have had super results with a freight broker, only prob is he retired! The loads that come from this board are tricky, almost always drop deck with ramps required, and lots of times the equipment does not run, requiring wreckers to load/unload. Complicating that are tight pickup windows on certain days of the week only. You up for the challenge?

Most trucking companies I've dealt with come through brokers. I've had mixed experiences once a driver get's out of touch with his dispatcher or the driver decides to make his own choices and refuse a load or discard his load into a ditch after leaving loaded. I have now switched to dedicated as LTL seems to work bad on both ends. I've had to haul tires out of a ditch in the past. Quite a few military trucks that need to be loaded need help getting on the trailer. That's why there are so many "Hotshots" in the market for this stuff. I've lost loads of equipment on truckers encouraging me to "load the top deck" of a step deck and then get mad a few miles down the road and think, "I could've sold that space" is the stuff that this community hates. If you're company is friendly and competitive, then yes, advertise all you want. I'm not getting anymore tires out of a ditch 30 miles from my house. If it's an LTL haul, I can't help you load a thing, bring you're own equipment and safe travels. I've had more bad than good when it comes to trucking companies.

I'm not going to judge you because of past experiences but I've had a lot of trouble with Brokers.
Some of the problems I've had are-
1) They take the load for a cheap price before they have a truck lined up and then have trouble finding somebody to haul it that cheap.
2) They make promises they can't always keep.
3) They lie about all sorts of things (to the trucker and the shipper).

Most of these problems can be resolved if they would just be honest to all parties involved. If you can't make the load just tell the shipper instead of telling him "it's on it's way" but the truck never shows up for pickup or delivery.

I do quite a bit of trucking but have all but gotten away from using brokers, due to the problems listed above. It usually cost more without a broker but I don't have to put up with all the BS.

With all that said, if you are a straight shooter and are honest, I'd be interested in giving you a try. Do you do single and double drops? Oversize?

PM me your contact info and we will talk.
