Pros:
Ease of installation
Kits readily available
Power assist works as long as you have air pressure (even without engine running)
Only system approved by the Military for M-series 2.5 ton trucks

Cons:
Cost
Not as much assist as a good hydro system
Lots of parts and hoses exposed (IMO)
Rebuild parts sometimes hard to find (lately this has been changing)

If you don't have the ability to obtain a hydraulic steering system from a civialian truck, modify it and install it in place of you manual steering on the deuce, then the only power steering option is air-o-matic air assist steering. You can't beat the ease of installation and zero maintainence of this system. couple of zerk fittings to grease, that's it. I've had one on Old Smokey since "96 and I just adjusted the puck in the drag link last week for the first ime. I add them to all my JATonka 4x4 coversion trucks as soon as they are built. John T

It took me 3.5 hours start to finish to install the AirOMatic system on my deuce.. Everything bolts right on, just like they designed it that way. Which, they did! :)
