Help with bracket identification

Maybe someone can tell me what these are for. Out of six deuces this is the only truck to have them and they are only on the left side, one bracket in front of mid axle wheels and one behind rear axle wheels.View attachment 394495View attachment 394496

Guess I should have stated M35A2 1971, Also it took special abilities to get those pictures like that.

Chock block stowage? I see there is a chain in the photo, where does it go? Maybe to secure the chocks to the truck? This looks like a local modification, it's not something you'll see on alot of trucks.

Mine are made a little different but it came that way from the Army.

They are tailgate steps, used as chock holders.
