I was told it was owned for many years by the Air Force base here in Maine. A previous owner removed the rear axle and cut about 4 feet off the frame. I plan to keep it 4x4 for hauling firewood out of my land and plowing my long camp road all winter. I do plan to remove the center beam axle and leaf springs, then weld in new spring mounts to run leafs from something like a ford f800. The original transmission has also been swapped out for a sm420 4 speed with a pto, mated to the original transfer case. It wasn’t running when I got it, just had the fuel tank cleaned and coated, I ordered a NOS fuel pump off eBay and also hunted down a NOS distributor and set of plug wires for it. Being a truck that spent most of its life in New England , there really isn’t too much rust to speak of.
