So I have the condenser and compressor installed in my 94 M998A1 and I'm looking at converting it to a slantback soon and I heard that its easiest to use the dash a/c kit since the windshield frame doesnt have defroster vents.

I did some initial digging and I cannot find any anywhere (including ebay). Maybe I'm just not using the right keywords but all that comes up is red dot systems (no thanks) and the fender well kits.

Also where does the evaporator coil go in the dash a/c kit?

the evaporator goes where your heater core currently lives. there are 2 different dash a/c ducts. Neither will attach to the other core easily or to the heater core you currently have easily.
The best solution would be to get the correct windshield frame or replace the defrost vent sections from a softtop frame.
someone on here was willing to trade for the correct one.

ive heard about people taking the lower section of the soft top frame and attaching it to the hardtop frame.
Do they make hardtop frames that have the defrost vents?

yes. the ones used in the m1025 and m1026 had 3 vents on the driver side, just like the softtop frames. frames from the latest humvees have no or one vent on the driver side.
The frame you have could be used with the 3" thick windshield, but they have heating elements inside the glass..
If you got the frame with the slantback kit, the seller probably just stuck it in to make it look complete.
